Planned for 2028 · Denver, Colorado
World’s Largest Collaborative Painting
What makes you human? 25,000 people in Denver, each painting one story into a single artwork, 16,000 square feet of it, installed on a Denver facade.

The idea
For as long as there have been people, we have danced, sung, told stories and made pictures to create culture together. This project reclaims art as an expression of our shared humanity, open to everyone.
Denver is a city in rapid change. The painting is a way for people who have just arrived to connect with roots that were already here, and for the whole city to create something no one could make alone. With 25,000 co-authors it would nearly double the current record for contributions to a single painting.
- 50community events across Denver
- 500people at each event
- 50local facilitators, trained over four weekends
- 5004 by 8 foot panels in one artwork
Where it is now
Open for partners to begin conceptualizing
The painting is planned for 2028. Right now we are inviting partners to shape it with us from the very beginning: the guiding question, the venues, the communities to bring in and how the finished work will live in the city.
Start the conversationHow it is designed
At each event, groups of 25 work with trained facilitators. In the first half, a group designs an image for one of 25 story themes. In the second half, they paint a panel that an earlier group designed. Between events, the studio and painting assistants weave the panels together so the whole reads as one work.
An advisory committee from the public, social and private sectors holds the real decisions. Facilitators are recruited from artists, community organisers, researchers, retirees and young adults building leadership skills.
Ways to partner
- SponsorsCompanies and foundations funding events, facilitators and materials, with visible credit.
- VenuesSpaces that can host an event of 500 people.
- Community partnersOrganisations bringing their people into the painting.
- Advisory committeeLeaders who want a real say in how the project runs.
Partnership here is reciprocal: space, in-kind support and people’s time count as real contribution and are credited as such. Corporate teams can also take part as a group, as a team building experience with a lasting public legacy.
